OliveMethodTM
is a proprietary, unique, time-tested approach
to outsourced projects and services. This process
addresses the primary concerns of the customer
when considering a remotely sourced project or
service. These concerns include budget, timeframe,
quality and control. At the same time, it takes
potential obstacles such as cultural differences,
geographical distance, language barriers and time-zones
and turns them into advantages for both the customer
and for Olive.
These obstacles are overcome through three primary
means:
Specifications
– Olive seeks to completely understand the
needs of the customer before doing any design
or development work, even if it means turning
down a project due to a lack of clear specifications
and expectations. We want to make sure we are
giving our customers exactly what they need and
expect. The specification part involves:
• Understanding your strategies and objectives
• Evaluating resource requirements and availability
• Focusing on meeting your needs and expectations
Communication
– Olive realizes that one of the primary
ways to avoid potential problems is through clear
and effective communication with the customer.
Through its proprietary communication and change
management system, a Web-based application called
OliveTrackerTM,
we seek to maintain clear and continuous communication
with the customer from beginning to end. In addition,
we continue to invest in training our staff to
be more effective communicators, especially across
cultural barriers. Communication is at the heart
of OliveMethodTM.
The communication aspect involves:
• Understanding your organizational culture
• Establishing lines of communication
• Implementing OliveTracker™ into
the system
Documentation and
support – Olive seeks to set the
highest standards for excellence in documentation
and support of all their products. This is one
of the benchmarks of a quality product, and an
essential element of all that we do. This aspect
becomes critically important in an outsourced
project, and we work with trained technical writers
who interface with the development team to ensure
the highest quality is maintained in this process.
This includes:
• Teamwork with developers
• Comprehensive paper trail
• Establishing an audit framework
The goal of OliveMethodTM
is to maximize the benefits of IT outsourcing
while mitigating and minimizing the risks for
the customer and for Olive.
